Hi all,

I recently purchased 4 2GB RAM sticks for my acer aspire m3910 (it has 4 memory slots). I have researched before purchasing and the computer can accept these RAM sticks at this spec.

I believe that the motherboard is H57H-AM2.

There seems to be a problem when adding a Ram stick to slot 3. The computer turns on but there is no video signal when I have a RAM stick in slot 3 and it doesn't seem to boot up. I can use 3 2GB sticks in the other slots fine.

I have also tried just using a couple of sticks, one in slot 3 and another in slot 1 but the problem still occurred. I have tried all 4 sticks in slot 3 but the problem always occurs.

Is there anything that I can try to fix this?

Here are the RAM sticks I ordered: 4 x Acer Aspire Desktop M3910, 2GB DDR3 PC3-10600 1333MHz 240-pin DIMM

Other system details:

OS: Windows 7 64 bit
Processor: Intel Core i3 3.20 GHz

Update: I tried my old RAM set-up and slot 3 again isn't working to obviously a problem with the slot. Is there anything that I can try to fix slot 3?

Solution
if you purchased the system or the motherboard recently it will still be under warranty. if it's a shop, just take it to them and have them test and repair. if online purchase then contact the retailer if still under their RMA timeline. if retailer won't RMA, contact the manufacturer for support.

if the motherboard's DIMM slot is faulty there's nothing you can do to fix this issue on your own.
your only options may be to leave out the 3rd stick or to have the motherboard replaced.
