Ok so I have spent the last week trying to learn the hardware specs etc and I have finally put together a build. Please tell me what you guys think. Are all the parts compatible, bottleneck issues, things I may be forgetting etc... keep in mind i am building for future upgrades possibly SLI more RAM etc... I couldnt find the power supply I picked but it is 850W. Also I am not sure if I need a network adapter. It looks like the Motherboard has one idk. build below:

Well first of the CPU comes with a cooler if you want to use it you can, the motherboard most likely has a WIRED network interface card but you may need to buy a wireless on if you need one (You can get them for USB also) and it appears to have no compatibility issues

I think he'd have to buy different ram, and a different mobo if he goes with the 6600k, if I'm not mistaken.

I think the 6600k is an 1151 socket....

Yup. And another week's worth of learning about the new parts....

It's good though for the first time PC builder.
Get all the learning and experience you can get. It makes putting the new build together much easier and less stressful!!!

Absolutely!

The cooler could be changed if you want. They perform about the same as a H7 or Hyper 212 EVO. I own a H60 and wanted to try it out.

There are a couple things that need to be discussed, if you want to run SLI, we'll need to know what PSU you selected (quality over wattage). The other thing is you're going with a M.2 SSD. If you do that PCI slot 4 will run at x4 speed. Not good for SLI. You'll want to change the SSD to a SATA drive one if you want to run SLI or get a motherboard will more PCI lanes (one with a PLX chip. Most Z97 boards have only 16 lanes.

*If M2_1 slot is occupied, PCIE2 slot will run at x8 mode, and PCIE4 slot will run at x4 mode.

Ok her eis the new build with the changes you guys recommended, I added the 6600 processor I kept the RAM cuz it is still compatible. I changed the cooler although I am curious about whether I will need water cooling when I add the 2nd GPU... I changed the mobo to be compatible with the processor. I changed the SSD to SATA I found a new PSU so that I could post it. Is 850 enough power for both GPU's? I also added a wireless GPU its a cheap one but it had good reviews. looking forward to what you guys think. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/bcsf3C
