Hello,

I`m a web programmer from EU and I was playing games in my spare time but after my last try at Skyrim I`ve become a little obsessed about mods and HD textures but my rig could not handle it so I`ve decided to build a new PC for the following purposes:

- playing games like Elder Scrolls Series, GTA Series, Witcher 3 and Minecraft
- using PHP Storm for work
* for work my current CPU is enough and for games I understand that a 4 core is enough

My current PC:
CPU: AMD Athlon X2 6000+
MOBO: random old mobo
RAM: 8gb ddr2
PSU: 500w (old random psu)
Video Card: ATI 4650 1GB DDR2

My budget: ~750$

Now to explain myself, i have two options go for the new i5 6th gen 6600k but no money for a decent video card are left or to get the fx-8320 paired with a Radeon R9 380 NITRO 4GB

here are the parts I`ve found at my biggest country seller:
AMD:
ASUS M5A97 EVO R2.0 @ ~102$
AMD FX-8320 @ ~157$
Corsair 8GB (2x4gb) DDR3 1600 CL9 @ ~61$
Sapphire Radeon R9 380 NITRO, 4096MB, GDDR5, 256 bit @ ~312$
or
Gigabyte nVidia GeForce GTX 960, 4096 MB, GDDR5, 128 bit @ ~300$
DeepCool TESSERACT SW Case @ ~46$
and a 550/630w psu around 40$
TOTAL: ~718 with R9

INTEL:
i5-6600K @ ~300$
ASUS Z170M-PLUS @ ~146$
Kingston HyperX Savage Black 8GB (2x4GB), DIMM, DDR4, 2133MHz, CL13, 1.2V @ ~77$
Game Daemon 6005, ATX Mid Tower @ ~43$
Thermaltake Smart SE 630W modular psu @ ~80$
TOTAL: ~646$

So what should I choose given the fact that if I choose the intel way 1. i don`t see much benefits from the huge performance gain as explained above what I`m gonna do with the build, 2. I`ll probably stay without a video card for 3-4 month which is a pain in the arse

Maybe you could direct me to another setup with FX-6300 or I3 or something to lower the budget so I can squeeze a SSD in there... thank you very much!

EDIT: just forgot to mention that overclocking is not a requirement for me at least as the system handles the games I play at avg ~40 fps without stutter

i3 6100 or i5 6400
stock or aftermarket cooler(maybe a hyper 212)
h110 motherboard
ddr4 8gb
CS 450 Power Supply
Game Daemon 6005, ATX Mid Tower or any other
1Tb HDD 7200 rpm
GTX 960(you said 300 for a GTX 960, thats a little high! I recommend you look for an other retailer for your graphics card)

I'm not totally sure but this should be around 600.

Hope I helped:)

Thanks kwa-e but in the price rage of the video card you provided I only have R9-270 2gb, R7-370 4gb, GTX 960 2gb and R9-380 2gb,
at $275 is the gtx 960 4gb and at $312 the R9 380 so what do you suggest? changing the provider is not an option...which one of those is better for the value/price and also good pair with the i3

Well the 380 is around 7% faster than the 960, seeing as there is practically no performance going from 2GB to 4GB except for a select few titles I'd say the 380 2GB (But the 4GB model is a bit better, if it's not that much more expensive.) gives the best bang for buck at your price range.

Thanks a ton man, could not choose between all options by my own and also would not want to spend extra $ for not needed performance, your build turns out to fit my needs perfectly I`ll order it tomorrow after I decide between the two cards...it`s a 78$ dif between them and the 4gb one is currently out of stock...so maybe I`ll give them a call and ask how long it takes to deliver it. Thanks again and have a great day/night!
