Hello,

Yes, it may seem so outdated that I still use Windows 7. BUT, I do like it for its nostalgic appeal. I wanted to migrate my Windows 7 onto an SSD but I want to know a few things. Will it work?

Windows 7 OEM can't be installed on a different motherboard. I know this. But if the SSD is in the same system as the HDD. Would I still be able to migrate. I plan to do a clean install and use my OEM product key. Would this be okay?

Thanks for any answers.

Yes it is possible to perform a clean Windows 7 install on a new SSD attached to the same Motherboard using the OEM license. You will be able to activate it without any problems. Just make sure you get the OEM version of the OS, as the retail version will likely to give you trouble activating it.
