Hello guys,

i got a wired situation going on,
i have a LENOVO Y50-70 Touch (2015) with a "WDC WD10S21X-24R1BT0-SSHD-8GB" hard drive.
every time i boot up i get "windows detected hard disk problem" and also after I installed intel rapid storage software, i get warning of "your system is reporting one or more events, data may be at risk"

on the contrary, i ran few tests with softwares like "HD disk sential pro" or "HD tune pro" and this softwares report NO PROBLEM whatsoever !!!!!
even i went further and had the hard disk scanned by "HDD regenerator", still NO PROBLEM or any bad sectors whatsoever.
also i did ZERO FILLING and still i get the warning every time i boot up in windows 10 (same happens in 8)

few screenshots for better understanding of the problem

WHAT SHOULD I DO ????

IS MY SSHD REALLY FAULTY OR IS THE WINDOWS WHICH REPORTS FALSE ALARM ????

this is really urgent ....
pls help !!!!
i would be really appreciated.
THANKS IN ADVANCE

You can refer to your laptop's manual for this, @iAchilles. In case there isn't any step-by-step described there, you can always find a YouTube video that might show you how to unmount and re-mount the HDD in your notebook. You'd definitely need screws for it, though, and be careful.
Doing a backup of your files before tampering with the hardware is highly recommended!
However, as I already mentioned, if you feel uncertain about doing this by yourself, you should refer to the closest PC repair service.

Hey there, iAchilles!

This seems very unfortunate. :( I'd advise you to backup immediately before proceeding with the troubleshooting. I'd recommend you to reinstall the Intel RST drivers from the laptop manufacturer's website and even try resetting BIOS from the BIOS settings. It would get the motherboard settings back to their default state.
I'd also recommend you to use WD's brand-specific diagnostic tool a.k.a. Data LifeGuard Diagnostics for Windows. Running the QUICK and EXTENDED tests from the utility will also give you the SMART results and health status. This might help you benchmark them with the other utilities.

Since you have bought the laptop last year, it should still be covered by the warranty. I'd suggest you get in touch with the manufacturer's customer support and send an RMA request. They should take care of the repair and replacement HDD for you.

Keep me posted, though. Good luck!

Thank u sir for the response
i also already checked the issue by "Data LifeGuard Diagnostics for Windows"
NO problem was detected !

if the SSHD is ok, then why the windows keep warning me every time i boot my system up ???????
WHAT CAUSES SUCH A WARNING ? that's my big question

is there any way to make it fixed by myself since my laptop is not covered by warranty

thx in advance

Hey there again, iAchilles!

This seems pretty frustrating! :( Since the laptop is not covered by the warranty anymore, I guess I'd try reseating the SATA connection to the SSHD. I'd also advise you to backup your data on regular basis, so you keep your peace of mind. If you have access to another computer, you could also try testing the drive there. Another thing you might want to try is using the DOS version of the WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics. Once you create a bootable flash drive with the utility, you'd be able to test it without booting into Windows. You can find the software on our website, when you select your WD product.

You've done a pretty awesome job with the troubleshooting so far, but if you are not certain about tampering with the hardware manually, I'd recommend you to turn to a professional computer repair services and let the guys there perform full diagnostics on your laptop.

Best of luck!
