I have a question as I'm buying a computer from Ibuypower in the near future and I was wondering which of the following DDR4-2400 RAM sticks would work best with a ASUS Z170 Maximus VIII Ranger:

Corsair Vengeance LPX or G.Skill Ripjaws V.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance and sorry if this is a dumb question.

While those specifics might be relevant if the OP were selecting the exact components, it's not in this case. The computer is being built and set up by ibuypower. They don't give out that information.

And they have a special where you can get Adata XPG 2800 RAM. I'd take that.

Neither one is cheapest, as they are the same upgrade price. If you don't want to do the 2800 Adata RAM, just pick one. They both are good quality and have lifetime warranties.
There is no "best" and if there is a performance difference between the two, it would only be noticeable in benchmarks. Both of those are good quality and have lifetime warranties. Just pick whichever is cheapest and either apply the difference to get a better component in some other part of the system, or just save the money.

Thanks for the help guys, quick follow up I noticed one of them the g.skill ripjaws v wasn't listed in on the QVL list on the ASUS site, is that a hard fast rule or just a there might be issues if your not using this brand type of deal. Sorry to bug you all again.

No it's not a hard and fast rule -- no mainboard manufacturer can possibly test all memory kits from all manufacturers.

G.Skill has only one 8GB Ripjaws V 2400 kit, and on that kit's page the Ranger is listed in the QVL. It will work.

ibuypower will test your machine before it ships. They would likely find any incompatibilities and swap it out if they don't work.
