No. Not all evga psus are bad. Only the cheap models. They have some psus in tier one.

You didn't have this issue in a different computer because it had different parts. Most likely, your old computer had parts which required less power to operate, thus working on the cheap psu.

That is a way to check if the psu is not working, but not a way to check if its working. If the psu works in a older setup, it may or may not work in a newer setup. If it fails in a older set up, the psu is definitely done.

You can't say seasonic is better than evga, or evga is better than corsair, because all companies have their low end models and high end models. Like Antec is almost infamous for its bad psus, but many people are unaware that they have some good ones.

You are right. I will tell you to run a benchmark like 3DMark and see if it is shutting down or not. This test will raise your both CPU and GPU usage. But still I strogly believe it is your psu. Since during gaming the pc draws more power from psu.

I have a hard time believing that it's the PSU. If you have an extra one or if a friend does I would test it in your system for a few days and see. Your system doesn't draw anywhere near 500w. It is possible you got a lemon and yes I understand there is a PSU Tier list. All components are going to have bad reviews but looking this one up I found only the odd negative review here and there which is to be expected with all products.

Simply saying it's the PSU is like a mechanic that changes parts without diagnosing the problem. Is your PSU under warranty? Can you send it back for them to test and possibly replace if something is wrong? I would recommend a little more diagnosing and unfortunately I don't know a whole lot about PSUs but I have a hard time immediately blaming it, especially since you said it's been working fine previously.

I've personally had this problem before, so I can say I'm an inexperienced person speaking from experience. :p
The problem is that many companies advertise a much higher watt on their psu than it really is. If it's genuinely 500w, go for it.

What else could cause this problem though? Not saying it isn't the motherboard, but a $30 psu is very likely going to break.

A friend of mine had the same problem. He bought a prebuilt computer (ABS I believe) from Newegg and it came with a Cougar 600w PSU that was of course, very cheap. I threw in my older but working 650w Rosewill and it didn't resolve the problem. Turned out to be the mobo. Since I didn't actually do the diagnosing I have no idea what caused the issue so unfortunately I can't be of more assistance here.
I'm laughing and crying right now; I didn't realize that was a $30 PSU and I live in Canada so that would probably be $50, still very cheap. I wish our dollar wasn't so poor. :p
