Do windows partitions clash if there are two drives both with Windows on?

When my SSD arrives, I will unplug my HDD, plug in the SSD and install windows, then plug the HDD back in to move all of my documents over. Is this okay? As the drive will have a system reserved partition on it from the old windows install.

Once i've taken all my documents, I will go into disk management and just delete and format the partitions and make 1 big one for mass storage.

The first part is right. It won't clash, and you can do that.

You cant combine the SSD and HDD, but you can make one ssd partition and one whole hdd partition.

I have 2 "EX 'C'" drives in my desktop. One with WIN 7 and one WIN 8 OS on them. Neither have been reformated and I have never had any problem with them loading when I start up my SSD with WIN 10. I only use them for back ups and to save having to transfer "MY" stuff onto the new drive. I keep saying I will get around to clearing them but there is always "another day" !
