Hi all,

I am looking through DDR3 rams. Crucial analysed my mobo to take a max of 16 GB of ram, i can still buy 8GB, with 2 ram slots, should I buy 2x 4GB or 1x 8GB

and what's the difference between so many models?
Kingston, Crucial, Corsair.

Does their price really make a difference to my performance?

Two sticks of RAM will allow dual channel mode to be enabled for up to ~10% better performance. If you only use a single stick of RAM, you will be in single channel mode.

Your board can use any DDR3 1333/1066 Hz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8H67M_LE/specifications/
Almost any RAM (that meets the above specs) no matter the cost will work fine in that board. If you aren't planning on OC'ing your memory, go for the best price.

Hi, forgot to mention that I already have existing 2x 4GB. Does it matter if I buy another 2x 4GB or 1x 8GB?

I'm not sure with that board. Some boards allow for Flex Mode where the first pair remain in dual channel mode and the single stick runs in single channel mode. Other boards will revert the entire memory system to single channel mode.
Since your board maxes out at 16 GB, it would make better sense to go with 2x4 GB and stay in dual channel mode.

First it's never a good idea to mix DRAM, no guarantees the sticks will play together...if you do try, anothe 2x4 will keep all in dual channel mode, or if you try an 8 GB stick will want it in slot 1 by the CPU and put your older sticks in slots 3-4 - that puts 8GB in each channel and Flex will run it as all in dual ;)

What do you exactly mean by mixing dram?

So, 1600 can still work on my mobo, it's just that will only work at max of 1333 as the Asus website states?

2 x DIMM, Max. 16GB, DDR3 1333/1066 Hz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel Memory Architecture
* According to Intel® SPEC, the Max. 32GB memory capacity can be supported with DIMMs of 8GB (or above). ASUS will update QVL once the DIMMs are available on the market.

So, from the above does it mean I also can use up to 32 gb of memory now?

my bad all this while. I only have 2 ram slots. so I have to go for the 2x 8 GB no matter what. can I just say that 1600hz ram doesn't work with my mobo?

and... is it ok to have 1x 4GB and 1x8GB?

Can I just check if it's economically viable to do an upgrade of ram?? They just speed up multiple processes to be run concurrently, right? I don't really need to run many applications, just mainly a game and web browsing concurrently. If I were to run my game, I would need a better proc and video card actually, rather than ram.

How do I justify my price(probably about 100 USD for my ram upgrade) for my usage? Is there a program to check my ram usage?
