Bought the wrong SSD type for my motherboard, Is there anyway I can still get it to work?

I recently upgraded to a 7170 board (ASUS 7170-A) and am new to the whole m.2 thing. I purchased a 120GB Samsung 850 EVO m.2 SSD for my OS not really considering that it might be the wrong type (my fault).

Is there any kind of adaptor or a workaround that I can do to get it working? I read later that for my board it requires a PCIe based SSD for it to work with the motherboard m.2 slot, am I screwed?

Sorry, let me be more specific. The SSD I purchased says its SATA based, and the motherboard m.2 slot says it wants a "PCIe based" SSD.

So with an adaptor like the above I can connect a SATA based SSD to it and will be good to go? Sorry for the confusion, I just want to ensure it will work with my motherboard.

That is pretty much what we are all suggesting; the adapter should do the trick. They aren't expensive, shouldn't hurt to try that IMO.
