Solution
Gateway is a keyboard hardware issue.
For the Dell, unless there is a recovery options. need to reinstall the os. could buy a recovery disk from dell. go to dell support site for that model.

That's exactly what I did.
When I Google my issues it doesn't seem anyone on the face of earth has all the same issues at one time. Im hoping, maybe one of you fantastic folks on here will have an instant answer..like a "duh Deana, you shoulda know that"...besides I shouldn't have messed with it BUT I did.damage is done. And it's only a computer for his games and such, I didn't mess with any network services. I'm not sure how the WiFi problems happened :/ it's the main thing I'm worried about.

And the laptop actually has a sticker on it saying Vista. In control panel it shows Windows 7 Ultimate. It's also giving me not genuine windows error messages. Got it off craislist, go figure lol. Am I doomed?

I always got the error messages for windows not being genuine. It was about a week after I got it (and everything was running fine) when I started to clean up and messed it all up.

gotcha. I'm on my computer now, on my phone i didn't get notifications when you responded.. i had to check my email then click to reply back to you. just figured pm would be easier. no biggie, anyway, i was saying I have two computers I need help with! You replied to my other post too but it's deleted, I guess?
I have a Dell and a Gateway laptop. The Dell (the one were discussing in this forum) is giving me all kinda error messages and nothing is working right. The Gateway is"acting crazy"meaning it randomly turns shift off and on, the H key gets stuck down, and both of those if you hit the key to unstick it, it does nothing. I have to go to my on screen keyboard and that doesn't always work. I figured out the virus issue with the Gateway-its taken care of now but the keys are still going crazy. Both I bought off craigslist at different times from different people but coincidentally they both are running windows 7 when the stickers on the computer itself says Vista. I got them both for cheap so I'm not against the idea of buying a legal, genuine copy of windows vista for them but do you think it will fix all the crazy going on? It should, since its starting over from nothing right? And assuming so, can I use on both computers? The Gateway isnt giving me error messages about windows not being genuine..the windows its running may very well be legit. The dang keys are going to drive me crazy though.

Back to the Dell...outside of buying vista and starting over there's nothing else I can do? I don't need anything fancy on either one. Both computers are only used for Internet browsers. All I need is working internet (WiFi) and a browser. There's not some kinda reset services or something? lol All my backups are from after I messed everything up, they're pretty much useless.
