Hi
Is there a simple answer as to why my ga-ep43t-s3l board will not boot with 1,2 or 4 sticks of the Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1866MHz CMZ16GX3M4X1866C9?

Cpu: intel Q9400
Psu: 750w

Solution
These are a newer line of DRAM that arte made (as is all DDR3 DRAM these days) with high density memory ICs, which aren't compatible with the socket 775 mobos. Best bet for your mobo would be to look at the GSkill NT series of value DRAM, it's among the few of the older lines of DDR3 that used the lower density memory ICs (chips) (new anyway, can generally find some of the older models on sale used)

Thanks for your reply! That is a very simple answer indeed. I do have all of that information that you provided. I guess I lied a little in my OP. Im actually after a more advanced answer.

The sticks should de-rate to 1333mhz and boot fine anyway, but they do not. I am wondering why that is? Something to do with the chip sizes used on the ram sticks or newer tech in them? Is anybody knowledgeable on this?
