Hey all,

A while back my onboard audio crapped out so I decided to buy a simple sound card.
I got this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/ST-Lab-M-170-SOUNDCARD-Warranty/dp/B002P513T0
(Didn't buy on amazon though)
It arrived today and eager to use my speakers again I installed it in my PCI slot and booted the PC.
Using the cd it came with I tried installing the drivers. (and I downloaded them from the manufacutures site). No luck, ultimately I get an error saying it doesn't support this platform. Assuming it was because of windows 10 I tried running it in different compatiblity modes, this did not help, same error.

I sincerely hope someone on this forum knows what to do.

Kind Regards,

MrHiddeS

I hope you didn't spend much(bad joke, sorry). That being said, try finding out what chipset is uses(I looked on the link you gave, it doesn't include much regarding the specs). It almost certainly will use a standard codec. Could always try the audio drivers, that come with motherboards, that matches the codec it uses. Make sure you find the drivers from the most modern mobo chipset, that includes that codec(crossing our fingers that it will be Win10 compliant).

Hmm, couple things; are you sure you grabbed the correct download? That site I linked is kinda weird tbh... And perhaps you can try pluggin your device into the card, to see if it wont install than.

Thanks to MrHiddeS I now have drivers. I'd like to add that when I downloaded the drivers and ran the setup, I got a msg to the effect that "This platform not supported" and the drivers did not load. Rebooted and updated the drivers using Device Manager (drivers and related files had previously extracted successfully) and all ok.
