Overclocking my CPU on this PSU+GPU combo

Hello all! I'm on a trip in Miami (from Argentina), and bought online a shiny new MSI R9 390, alongside a new Sandisk SSD (240gb). My current PC bears an AMD FX 6300 BE CPU on an entry level motherboard and a XFX TS Pro 550w PSU, with 2 modules of 4 GB ram ddr3 1600mhz and a 5200 rpm HDD.

Now I already checked online at the extreme PSU calculator and I imputed all my components (taking into account a new MoBo and a CPU fan), and calculated how much wattage I would be drawing at both stock speeds and at a 4,5ghz overclock on my CPU. The results were 455w on stock and 485 overclocked (calculated by the site).

My questions were:
-Should I overclock my CPU, while having that GPU?
-Is my PSU enough to handle that overclock + my components?
-Is it safe to overclock at that wattage?

Thank you!

Solution
275 watt video card 125 watt processor about 70 watts for everything else.
475 Watts under full load more like 420 or so under gaming use, About 80% of the power supply to error on the safe side I would buy a new one. When I build a PC I try to get a PSU that would be running in the 70% range when stress testing.

To tell you the truth I think your borderline without overclocking if your just gaming. Do not run any stress test.
I would be planning to upgrade the first chance you get because your going to need to overclock that processor to get good performance from it, I know money is tight for most people including me.
If it was me I would run it if I had to and be trying to sell it to help pay for a replacement. Like I said no overclocking and do not run any stress test.
That XFX power supply is very good Seasonic quality.

Thank you once more Zerk! What wattage do yo recomend for me to safely overclock either or both my CPU and GPU? Also, if I plan on upgrading to a higher end CPU when AMDs new CPUs come out, what is the minimum wattege you would recomend? Thanks!

I haven't looked at the new AMD processors and really don't even know if their going to be usable with the AM3+ motherboards so I cant really say about that.
With what you have right now a 750 Watt power supply would let you push everything you have to the limit.
Usually the price difference from a 650 watt to a 750 watt is very little, so again I would error on the safe side.
I still like to go back to the 70% area of the power supply when running a stress test of the PC.
Remember a stress test is usually nothing near what the PC will draw under normal use like gaming. It's very rare you would be using 100% of both the processor and video card.

Running a stress test on my PC I hit the 446 Watt area from the wall measured by a Kill-A-Watt meter. I have a good high quality Seasonic 650 watt PSU that puts me in the 69% area so I'm in my personal safe zone. Some people would debate the % and say running a full system stress test the 80% area would be OK since you will pretty much never hit that power draw under normal use like gaming, but I run a lot of work programs also and can be rendering and get fairly close to that number for several hours.

Thank you for the information, you really helped me out as these were all things that are new to me. I'll have to check the price differences here in Argentina, as a Sentey PSU, which I can't find reviews for (which makes me doubt) is well over 100usd (1 dolar = 14 pesos), and usually higher end PSUs are over the 200usd mark, but I'll check what I can get. Thanks once more for the tremendous help!
