HP compaq shutsdown after loading OS, but stays open and running on safe mode

My HP 2230s shuts down a couple of seconds right after the desktop appears but when i tried safe mode it opens without any problem. can you give me any hint about the reason behind this faulty start up? OS installed is windows xp

Hello... Hint... your computer is a loading a driver that Safe mode is not... that's one of safe mode features.
Did you just update/install a "different something" before this started happening... re-loading a "restore point" could fix this real fast for you.

There is a method to start Windows one driver at a time to help narrow down list... it lets you step through startup... would you like info on that procedure?
