So I just finished building my computer(first time builder), and I just plugged in the psu to see if the computer would turn on and it did. It lit up and the fan started going. However, the computer wouldn't turn off after, even after holding down the power button. The only way for me to turn it off was to unplug the psu. Please help Btw I haven't plugged it into a monitor yet. Will do tomorrow.

Solution
does the machine boot into windows? does it shut down and shut off from within windows?

also, did you make sure your looked at your motherboard's manual and connected the power connector to the correct spot on the motherboard's pins?

Solution
if it a newer mb like asus they do sometime have a power off bug. the fix is pull power from the mb. drain the cmos then make sure you have the newest bios file on the mb. after you drian the cmos the mb should shut down if the pins are on right on the mb.

No I haven't loaded an os yet. I'll try to look at the front panel connections again.
