I've recently bought a Inno3d gtx 960 herculez x2 to replace my gtx 650 gpu and after some time of playing witcher 3 it shuts down and restart. my specs are

Intel core 2 quad Q8300
G.skill 4gbx1 stick
seagate 250 hdd
msi g41m-p33 combo
fsp raider 550w 80+ bronze
5 x 120mm fan

and after that happen when i use the gtx960 and play any pc games the pc automatically shuts down and restart. but when i try the gtx 650 it works perfectly

is it my PSU that causes the problem? I've tried the gtx 960 on other PC and it works fine without restart

Yeap it's the psu. Seems like it's old and not in its best days. The GTX 960 draws more power, at first it starts low but when you need more graphical power it draws more power so the computer shuts down to prevent damage. The gtx 650 works normally because it has lower power requirement. At least that is my guess, but still the power difference between the 650 and 960 is like 50W and the psu should be enough for both. If you can, try with a different PSU.

I've tried to use the PSU (Seasonic G 550) from my other PC and it seems to work fine without any shut down incident, its most likely my PSU

Can I still use my PSU(FSP Raider 550) for my PC using the gtx 650 ? is there any risk that it might cause some damage to the other components
