I recently bought a new desktop and had to buy a new SMPS too. It came with a cable whose plug is not compatible with sockets in my house. I have two spare cables lying with me. The spare ones have 6A mentioned on them while the one that came with the SMPS is rated 10A. Is it safe to use my existing 6A ones or should I look for a compatible 10A one?

Solution
If the PSU requires a 10A cable for safety, you better use one. The 6A cable may overheat over time and ruin the insulation between conductors causing a short circuit, fire, etc.
