Is it posible to work 2 PCs each with 12 GB ram (2x4gb kit and 4x4gb kit)

Solution
You can try of course - there are no guarantees the 2x4GB set will play with any of the other 4 4GB sticks but chances are good they will with at least 1 of them. Give it a try, any problems give a shout and we can try some adjustments ;)
no case mentioned. you don't include what motherboards, what RAM.

also what do you mean?
you state 12GB RAM but neither of the sets you've mentioned are 12GB; 2x4 = 8, 4x4 = 16.
are you asking if you can split up the two different sets into 12GB each?

there's a very slight chance you could do that if they are the exact same RAM manufacturer & model running at the exact same speed and timings.
but, i and most that work on/with PCs will tell you that mixing RAM kits is usually not a good idea. even 2 different kits of the same exact sets, if not tested and bundled together, may not function correctly together.
lots of testing goes into those RAM kits to ensure they are compatible before packaging and sale.

if it some special deal where you'd be getting one or both sets free or at a super low price; then try them. if it doesn't work then you have one with 8GB and one with 16GB.
you more than likely won't notice any difference between 8GB and 16GB RAM of the same speed and timings. there is very little in the computing world that uses more than 8GB or memory.
