Hello everybody,

I am new to tom's hardware and generally to building computers. Last three moths I was fussing with the components so I came up with this build. Is it good? do you have any recommendations? Do I need an SSD? Do I need anything except a grounding strap, screwdriver and thermal paste to build a pc?

CPU: Intel i5 4690k
CPU cooler:SCYTHE SCIOR-1000 Iori CPU Cooler
GPU: GIGABYTE GTX970 4GB
Motherboard: MSI B85-G41 PC Mate
RAM: 2x 4GB DDR3-1866MHz Kingston HyperX Fury Blue
Disk drive: ASUS DRW-24F1MT/ BLACK/ BULK
Hard Drive: HDD 2, 5’’ 320GB WD3200LPVX Blue SATAIII 5.4k 8MB
Case: Zalman case midtower MS800 PLUS, mATX/ ATX

Thank you.

Honestly i prefer Asus but is just a personal preference. Any of the big brands should be fine: Gigabyte, Asus, MSI, EVGA etc, look for big brands not zotac or PNY or powercolor.

EDIT: If u can afford you should go for a 1TB or 2TB but if you cannot 500GB is fine too.

Talking about storage now i see, he put an notebook hdd (2.5", 5400 rpm), @SkittishGaming, go for a full desktop hdd (3.5", 7200 rpm) is faster, especially for small filles.

I changed the motherboard to the MSI Z97-G43 and added a intel i5 6600k. Then I did the Ram upgrade you have recommended. I also should have informed you that I'm trying to keep the build under 1060 euros. Shold I use the MSI, ASUS or saphire version of the r9 390x?

Thank you all for your help, I'm only 13 so Im having a really hard time :p

The z97 socket 1150 will not work with the socket 1151 processor i5 6600k

Build a system with www.pcpartpicker.com
It will help you a lot, because it checks compatibility

Thermal paste will be delivered with the CPU cooler.

Here a build:
