So i have had the 280x windforce for a while and thought i would like a performance increase. The motherboard i had at this time was a M5A97 LE rev 2.0, which is no good for this purpose so i bought a Asus Crosshair IV Formula, a used 280x Toxic, and the long crossfire bridge. Got the board and everything else installed, long crossfire bridge is connected, but the two cards do not play nice together.

Radeon settings shows the two cards linked and crossfire is active. Both PCI_E slots show 16x. When i run a game or benchmark the crossfire logo comes up. Both cards show high usage in afterbuner, but there is no benefit at all. The games and benchmarks show a small decrease in fps while crossfired, as compared to each card on their own.

I was sure that two different branded cards should work fine together. Help Please

i would have to say yes. Both cards are running high gpu activity while crossfired, so the wheels are spinning but not going anywhere, at least one isn't.
I should mention i have updated the bios on the MB to the newest version as well.
