Comparing the Asus x99-E WS/USB 3.1 vs the ASRock X99 WS-E/10G. I was wondering if anyone did the same or have any thoughts on either?

The Asus has USB 3.1, and *SAYS* that it has a Thunderbolt Header, but I can't find anyone using the TB card, or a compatible card for that specific board.

ASRock doesn't have USB 3.1. Has 10G which I don't know of a specific device I'd use to take advantage of this.

Any thoughts?

Solution
Well they both have the same chipset and Asus owns Asrock...
I'd probably go with the ASUS board.

(Nice boards by the way, definitely workstation level)

Ah...I didn't know the one owned the other. Yeah, need 2 x16 PCI lanes open for 2 Titan X's, then another one for the TB and a 4 lane Decklink.

But the M.2 would take 4 PCI lanes right?

Wish I could say this system build research was for fun, but no, for work.

If it's anything like my ASUS Z97-Pro, the Thunderbolt card is an ASUS-branded one ... I think it's this one: https://www.asus.com/Motherboard-Accessories/ThunderboltEX_II/

Yeah, the product itself doesn't say that it is supports the mobo, but the mobo has a header. I called Asus CS and they said that it is supported.
