Hi,
My PC usually shuts down after about 5-10 mins of GTA V running.
My PC:
CPU: i5 4590
GPU: R9 380 SAPPHIRE
MEMORY: 8GB
PSU: A.PFC 80+ BRONZE TR2 500W THERMALTKAE

temp:

Do you know what can I do to solve my problem?
Thanks.

Solution
Ive seen around a half dozen tr2s completely fry systems. They use cheap components. The orginal tr2s are the worst of the lot. Imho they are in the same junk pile as raidmax, apevia, and powmax.
Are you getting blue screen errors?
or
Is it more like a sudden shut down without warning?
(If it's sudden, you may have a power supply issue. OR your boot drive may be dis-mounting [bad SATA cable])

Does it boot up just fine after the shutdown?

Also, does it shutdown or restart?

you need to monitor your system while playing and check the temps that way just use cpu and gpu z i think you can create logs that might tell you what were the temps when the system shut down

Get a new PSU the one you have now is junk. The r9 380 needs a minimum of 500W 28A and according to the spec sheet for your PSU it puts out a combined 35A on two rails. I would say GTA V is pushing the limits of the PSU and it pooping out on you.

duno why you guys trash thermaltake so much i have friends that have had tr2s of more wattage than that one (600w) and i myself have got a 700w one and never had a prob with it and my friend had that one running for 5+ years the only real problem is the wattage on the psu its probably not giving enough power for the parts

Well the fact that Thermaltake doesnt make Tom's Powersupply list till tier 2 and even then there are only 4 and they are 3 gold's and a platinum units, tier 3 does not look good ether with Platinum, gold and silver units in it. And the TR2 is not even on the list.

Look at corsair, they make good PSU's, but their CX line is sh!t. Some people have good luck with them other die right away or have issues.

i do suppose thermaltake has a bad ratio of performance then i wish i could get a better psu but sadly here in venezuela its nearly imposible cuz the exchange rates an the shipments and the tax on all imported goods still i have been lucky so far with the one i got
