Yada yada

All my temps are low. CPU is 25c, GPU is 27c, none of my drives, including the hot as hell m.2 are over 30c

And yet, my Motherboard is reading 83C at the CPUSocket. ( "M/B Temperature" is the reading in BIOS)

Is this a faulty sensor? When I open the case and hover my fingers around on the board in various places, there isn't anything the stands out as being even relatively warm, never mind 83 degrees Celsius.

When I reboot, I find the same temperature reading in BIOS. So I turn the computer off for a bit, then restart, and find the temp has gone back down to the 30s. Where it stays for awhile, then goes up and down as I perform different tasks, but after awhile it just shoots up to 83c. It doesn't really fluctuate from 83c either, just sits there.

I'm just really concerned because I know that temperatures that high are generally bad for desktop computers.

I don't want some derpy VRM or capacitor to blow in 6 months because I ignored what I thought was a faulty sensor. If there's something I can do about it, i'd like to. Unfortunately, I seriously doubt there's anything I can do. I've already got great airflow, liquid cooling on the CPU and the ambient temperature in the room never gets above 22c.
