my samsung ssd (after succesfull cloning of OS) wont boot by itself

hi! i just cloned my hdd on a samsung 850 evo 1tb ssd. it went succesfull. then in the bios i set it to boot priority but the system asks me for a bootable media when trying to boot from it. it just wont boot at all from the ssd. any ideas?

Hello,

I ran into a similar problem on a Kingston SSD. I had to unplug the original HDD so only the SSD was left.
Windows (or the BIOS) seemed confused seeing both drives.

Once the SSD has successfully booted, I shut Windows down and then re-plugged the HDD. The system then was able to boot on the SSD. After that, once I was sure everything was working propoerly, I was able to reformat and wipe the old HDD.

Also, make sure you don't have a remaining USB flash drive or CD inserted. Just in case... ;-)

On another occasion (a Samsung SSD), I had to re-clone the HDD and then it worked.
