Overclocking GPU : are my temps good ?

Hi guys,

I have a Sapphire R9 280 Dual X (940Mhz clock speed and 1250Mhz memory clock) which I overclocked to 1100 and 1450.

So ingame the temps are pretty safe I guess : for exemple when I'm playing The Witcher 3 in high settings the temps don't go above 78°C after one hour of intense playing. Plus I don't have any artifacts or whatever issues.

However, my GPU is stuck at 56°C in idle (40% fan speed). Before the OC it was around 30-35°C with 25% fan speed.

I was wondering if it was normal since my temps under full load were safe enough ? I could higher the fan speed but the GPU's fans suck ass it makes horrible noises when it goes above 50%.

Thanks for your help.

I would not worry much about it. If the noise is excessive, just make custom fan curve using something like Msi afterburner keeping the fans at the lowest until gpu reaches 65 c. Your temps are fine as long as the card stays under 80 C at all times.
