A family member has a very old pc (about 7 years old) and has pictures on her hdd that she wants off. it would be too much hassle to boot the pc up as it had many problems at the time. im wondering if it would be safe to take out the hdd and put it in my pc and extract files without any damage to my computer. Installing the hard drive is not a problem as i built my own pc
