can I do 2 separate graphics cards for 2 seperate monitors?

My theoretical set-up would be 1 vertical monitor connected to the mobo just for browsing the web and 2 horizontal monitors both for high graphics gaming at the same time. Would bridging them be the better option or can I have the graphics cards separated?

I wouldn't be doing what Linus did but I would still be able to alt tab between monitors/graphics cards right? And would it be better to have them bridged and still be able to play hq games on both monitors?

This might be a separate question, but would a single 980 Ti be able to handle this? Because that's considerably less noise, heat, and energy use.

I will be playing 2 games at once but not like a virtual box like Linus has. That or at the very least 1 game and 1 movie/Twitch stream.
