Hi, almost all the desktop icons have a white sheet with the mozilla fire fox sign on them , when i try to open any of these ,

Download RKill, its application which is very small which stops any virus infections that are active preventing the install of any antivirus or antimalware scanners. You can use another pc or your mobile to download it, as i said its an small application, can found at bleepingcomputer website.

Run rkill and keep it running, dont close it, now run the malwarebytes setup, update it and do full system scan.

1. For safety, download malwarebytes antimalware update and scan and remove any threats.
2. Download adwarecleaner and do the same, it should also remove any hooks on browser.
3. Also update your antivirus software scan....etc.
4. Try downloading puran utilities and see if it can fix shortcuts since it has a shortcut fixer.....do this after doing virus scans.

Block puran utilities from accessing the web, its free good software but sometimes adds appear at the bottom, not necessarily dangerous but annoying, once downloaded, disconnect from the nets, install it and then block from via firewall then use it this way it remains clean.

Hey, so tried downloading malwarebytes and all that stuff but can't get anything to open or run,it's either a pop up saying file can not be found , or which program would i like to open this file , which of course doesn't work, the only program that i downloaded and it actually opened an run without any problems was microsoft fixit , but the only thing that did was change the icons from a white sheet with the mozilla sign on them to a plain white sheet now, don't know what to do again.
