Do I really need a CPU cooler for this?

Hello TomsHardware

I just have a few questions/concerns about my CPU. It is an i5 6500 in a build that im currently building. Some of my concers are listed as follows:

1) Since this is a locked cpu, which means I will not be doing any overclocking, do I need any custom cpu cooler or is the stock cooler more than enough?

2) I have heard alot about this 'turbo-clock' feature and I think i5 6500 clocks to about 3.60ghz from 3.2ghz at stock, does intel still recommend the stock cooler on turbo boost, or should I purchase a CM 212 Evo just incase (probably the most cost effecient cooler i could find)

P.S the build is still not ready, I need some tips on this matter before I make the required purchases. Thanks in advance

Solution
The stock Intel thermal solution for the 6500 accounts for the turbo boost feature and will cool the CPU enough. There's nothing wrong with upgrading the cooler if you feel better about it. I recommend the Cryorig H7 for upgrading the cooling for the 6500.

If you have the money I would recommend getting the HYPER 212 EVO. Yes, the Intel stock cooler is "adequate" but doesn't cool very well compared to even the cheapest third party cooler. Heat is an enemy of the processor - so I personally would never use the stock cooler on any Intel proc considering how cheap the 212 EVO is, and also considering how much better of a job it does.

Thanks, that was my initial concern if the stock cooler accounts for Turbo Clock aswell. Would you recommend the CM 212 Evo instead of the Cryorig H7 because according to pricespy.co.nz, Cryorig H7 isn't available in New Zealand

I am not a fan of CPU water coolers because they are three times more expensive and louder then the airflow cooler.
-if you use the stock fan it will be louder then after market but will cool the CPU as needed
-an expensive $50 CPU air flow cooler is --> very quiet <-- and would cool mild overclocking
-any CPU water cooler is ready and waiting to cool for overclocking
