Hey there. I'm going to buy A corsair K70 RGB MX RED. I was remembering that Corsair K70 had near the BIOS switch a USB port but in Recent photos I saw from RGB version this port is missing. I also saw a dual cable with "arrowed" one being the extra power needed for all these LED's.
No problem at all. BUT! I have a Corsair M65 working @1000HZ. My mobo is MSI Z87 G45 gaming which has only 2 usb 2.0 1000HZ ports. So I was wondering if the extra power cable K70 has could be connected on USB 3.0 in order to have 1000Hz KB and Mouse. As far as I am concerned there are no big differences on A that USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 port provide(500MA USB 2.0 and 900MA USB 3.0)

Well you will say there no such visible difference between 1000MHZ and 500HZ but I want the best experience out there and that's why I've spent over 2000$ on my rig the last 2 years getting SSD's, unlocked CPU's etc...

Thanks!

The K70 RGB does not have any USB passthrough. There are no USB ports on that keyboard.
With the K70 RGB, you can simply power it off a single usb 3.0. There is a guide that will tell you this when you opened the retail box.
You only need both usb plugged in if you only using usb 2.0 ports for both.
You have six usb ports on your motherboard from the back I/O panels : 2 usb 2.0 and 4 usb 3.0.
M65 will work in any usb port 2.0 or 3.0, it does not matter. The cable itself is usb 2.0 on the M65.

You did not actually answered all of my question. I need to use the USB 2.0 ports for my K70 and M65 cause they are 1000HZ. The USB 3.0 ports are 500mhz. So I do want to plug the second USB of k70 RGB on USB 3.0 and the 1st on USB 2.0. Will not be a problem ahh?
