hey guys.. I'm wondering, will this be able to work on my amd card with 60hz..? has anyone tried it? I'm planning to upgrade the gpu to NVidia soon, but I only have either choice, get this, or upgrade my gpu first. I am planning to get this since availability is limited in my area, whereas gpus are easier to get

Without specifying which screen you are referring to, I'm assuming it has G-Sync and you're wondering about compatibility with your current card.

Yes, the screen will be compatible with your card, you just won't be able to use the G-Sync feature (it will be disabled).

I was in a similar position to you. My last build used a HD5850 ATI card and I bought an XB270HU while stock was available and the screen happily ran on the monitor. Later on I upgraded to an Nvidia card and enjoyed the benefits of better FPS and G-Sync.

If you are willing to provide the details of your card and monitor you plan on buying I can tell you more confidently.

yes the acer predator x34, my current amd card is r9 290x.. so, it will just display normally like any monitor should..? hahah its on sale for 100 bucks less here in my area, and I'm just worried if no display would show up using an amd card

100% yes, the display will output normally. You might find the output profile using an AMD is locked to 60hz. When using my HD5850 the display profile was capped at 1440p at 60hz. Once I installed an Nvidia GPU it unlocked the option for 1440p at 144hz.

So yes, buy the monitor and enjoy the glory of the 1440p screen, then upgrade your GPU and enjoy the glory of the 100hz that the monitor can achieve.
