which is better the powercolor hd 6870 1gb or the evga gtx 460 sc 1gb

Hi i need to know which gpu would be better for playing new games like fallout 4 and minecraft i currently have an i3-2120 gts 250 8 GBs of ram a 120 GB ssd and a corsair cx430 power supply which one would be better?

Passmark Scores: 460 = 2642 6870 = 2578

You may want more GPU horsepower for fallout 4 though.

Performance wise 6870 is slightly ahead. Though between the two 460 still being supported in main driver while AMD already dropping support of their 5k and 6k series. Why not looking for much recent cards?

I totally get you, but hear me out: when a GPU is twice as fast (Passmark Score: Gtx 950 = 5243) for a little more than what your budget is, it becomes an astonishing option.

i've done some research and found that the it cost 3 times as much at $240 on newegg to only get 70% more performance than the gtx 460. However if you could find a good gpu for up to $150 cad which performs at least 40% better than the gtx 460 then i'll get that one instead. but i should let you know that i won't be using the gpu to run any high end games other than fallout 4 so i don't really need anything that's overkill to just play fallout 4 and minecraft.

Thank you but i think i'll just get the gtx 460 and overclock it by 10-15% to nearly match the speed of the 750 ti
