I am gamer, not that serious but I like specific games. And they are requiring CPU not Graphic Cards.

I have HP Probook 450 G0
My Specs are
---- Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1
CPU
Intel Core i5 3230M @ 2.60GHz 57 °C
Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology
RAM
4.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-11-28)
Motherboard
Hewlett-Packard 1949 (U3E1) 45 °C
Graphics
Generic PnP Monitor (1366x768@60Hz)
Intel HD Graphics 4000 (HP)
2048MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 8600/8700M (HP) 45 °C
CrossFire Disabled
Storage
698GB Hitachi HGST HTS541075A9E680 ATA Device (SATA)

I want Upgrade my CPU to Intel Core i7-4790K @ 4.00GHz but I don't know if it is supported by my motherboard. On the website I have seen 3-4 CPU alternative but I think HP's website wasn't updated yet because they were from the date when 450 g0 produced.

the alternative are

3rd Generation Intel Core i7-3632QM (2.2 GHz, 6MB L3 cache, 4 cores)
Up to 3.20 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology

3rd Generation Intel Core i5-3380M (2.9 GHz, 3MB L3 cache, 2 cores)
Up to 3.60 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology

3rd Generation Intel Core i5-3340M (2.7 GHz, 3MB L3 cache, 2 cores)
Up to 3.40 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology

but on product files there is line which says
Processor 3
rd Generation Intel® Quad—CoreTM Core 4
i7, Dual—Core TM 4
i5 , and i3, Celeron and Pentium
so, what? Can you help me?

P.s If my choice CPU is not okay, can you advice me better one for gaming? B'cuz GHz spped is lower than mine. So is that means I will get lower performance (FPS)?

The 4790k is definitely out of the question since it is a high performance desktop CPU. Frankly, I'm not seeing where a 300MHz (400MHz difference in turbo mode) difference in CPU speed is going to help much in performance either but that would be your best performance increase by going to the Core i5-3380M

Out of curiosity, did the laptop perform better when it was new? I'm thinking you may recover some speed by physically cleaning the laptop. I'll suggest monitoring your temperatures to ensure you are not throttling from heat (that'll really degrade performance)

The intel i7 is made up of 8 cores which makes it a much better multitasking core
