hi i have an Nvidia gtx 960m, and intel HD intergrated graphics. The two graphics clash so i cant play any games. so how do i turn off the intel graphics. What if i disable this in device manager, will this not just turn off all of my displays and no longer to be able to use laptop?

Solution

Hi - The sys should auto detect when a discrete GPU is installed. Every once in a while tho (for some reason) it doesn't.
However, it's an easy fix if you haven't already. Go into BIOS, you should see something along the line of
Auto, Priority, disable, etc (depending on your mobo) for choices on your IGPU (Int graphics) and PCIE graphics.

Simply make the pcie graphics priority.

You don't need to disable it. Nvidia Optimus switches between the GPUs when the extra power is needed. You can however, go into Nvidia Control Panel and select 'change 3d settings' (I think). Click 'Global settings', and change the default to 'Use high-performance Nvidia processor'. That should make every game launch with the 960m. This is all from memory, but hopefully it helps.
