My current set up is as below:

Shuttle SH67H3
Intel i3-2100
16Gb DDR3 RAM
Samsung EVO 250Gb SSD
Western Digital Blue 500Gb HDD
Liteon DVD drive
Windows 10 Home

Although the PC is fast enough for web browsing, watching videos, live tv in Mediaportal etc it is starting to struggle with photo editing and video transcoding is fairly slow.

I figured as it is fast approaching 5 years old that it is time for an upgrade. Two things I like about my Shuttle are that it is small and fairly quiet (I replaced the stock 92mm fan with a Noctua one) so requirements for the new PC are that it is still small and quiet.

I don't do gaming on my PC but I do CAD for my job so I am keeping an eye on the future to allow upgrades for a graphics card for CAD software use.

I was looking at the following components and am going to try and build my first PC:

Case: Thermaltake Core V1
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650W
Windows 10
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16gb DDR4-2133
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H170N
CPU: Intel i5-6600
CPU cooler: Noctua NH-U9S
Storage: Samsung 951 256gb M.2 SSD

Firstly, what do you think of the specs with regards to my requirements?

I plan to reuse my 250gb SSD as a general purpose storage drive and use the M.2 SSD for Windows and programs.

Do you think the i5 6600 is too much/not enough?
I won't be overclocking so didn't bother with the K CPU or Z170 motherboard.
Is the CPU cooler too much if I'm not gaming?

I am trying to keep costs down to a minimum but learnt from my current PC to buy a good CPU and
power supply so you can upgrade the other cheaper components instead of paying out for a new CPU and so you have enough power for a graphics card should you need one.

Solution
The build looks pretty dang good. I think there are some less expensive kits of DDR4 from G.Skill, if you want to save money. A GPU might be in order within a few months, since those help in editing as well.
