Hi i bought a Dell XPS 8700 i5-4460 and i want to upgrade the RAM (8 Gb) that comes with it to a G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory and add a Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive.
I wanted to know if this is possible or am I gonna have problems with the motherboard or the power supply.

Thanks for the help

The only for sure way to know would be to check out the specifications of that unit and see what's compatible or not. You can Google Dell XPS 8700 specs and see that way. However, with what you're wanting to change, I can't foresee a problem.

As long as the RAM matches in frequency type and you don't max out the board, you should be good there. As for the SSD, I have never known that to cause issues with newer computers, the firmware is usually up to date enough.
