soooo, I built an awesome rig ( i will have specs listed below)about a year ago worth about $5,000 retail. this was my first ever self built rig. I loved learning how to do it. but anyways back to the issue. yesterday i ran out of space on my 1TB SSD, so what to do but start using a 4TB HDD I had installed. i looked at my drives and I'm not sure how I didn't notice this earlier but my 4TB HDD is showing as only 3.72GB. yes Gb I'm sure i looked several times. I went to disk management and the drive was called Microsoft storage something or other. I messed around in Disk management for almost an hour with no results. I reformatted the drive deleted the drive, I did several tips that I found on google and this website. its in the format that will let it exceed 2 tb. I cracked open my case and changed the sata locations and fired up the system. This time I went to BIOS and looked for my drive. sure enough It shows up listed next to my SSD, it shows up as a 4TB drive. so then I go to disk management again, and still it shows up as 3.72GB. i downloaded the seagate disk wizard, no results. I moved the sata slot again, looked in the bios and it was still there as a 4TB drive. this time when i tried to boot, BSOD. apparently my boot process is now screwed up. i Never messed with my SSD, which had my OS and everything from my computer since i first fired it up.

Sad isn't it? THEY ALL DO THAT, there is an explanation for over-head blah-blah, but am not gonna bored you with it.

Same as you never get the mileage what the car's sticker says, and the TV, when you actually measure it, is never the size they sold you (they are getting smarter in that regard by advert as 55" CLASS instead of telling you it's a 55" TV).

Also as an update, i opened up the intel rapid storage program and its shows the drive as a 3,726GB or 3.726 TB drive. Still windows wont show it as anything but 3.72GB.

Also i downloaded a partition wizard and wiped the drive, reformatted, pretty much everything i could find in the program and still no results. The drive shows up in the BIOS and in my intel rapid storage program as the 4TB drive but everywhere else it shows up as the 3.72 GB. also i went through my device manager, found the drive, and looked at the properties. All of the information in the volumes tab was blank. I hit populate and an error message popped up.
