So I just bought this brand new but old stock of Gigabyte Sniper 3 z77. Tested it before and after buying it. It had an issue not going to bios with a gtx 970 but is answered by updating bios.

Ive updated to the latest bios Gigabyte released back in 2013. Turned out fine and I was able to overclock to 4.5ghz with 1.225vcore with my ram set to 1333mhz (as per Jayztwocents). AFter getting it stable i enabled the xmp so i could benchmark it but turns out it was underperforming against my previous ASrock z77 extreme 4 board in memory benchmark (producing less than half of Asrock's output). In addition to this Im having really weird cinebench scores. Where in stock settings I lose to an i7 3770 by 2-4%. When oced i only get around 26% which i think is just fine for 4.5ghz. I returned to bios then it didnt accept any tweaks i made even not load factory defaults. I switched to the other bios to see if its okay but i returned to the 1st one to change the bios to the 2nd latest, so far im it's normal but im still uncertain will give another next day if everythings fine. Im trying to use the stable 4.5ghz and 1.225vcore from the 1st bios(latest) to the 2nd latest and tweak the memory if i can get better scores from my Asrock board. However, Im starting think that this mobo is quite defective. I just tweaked the multiplier, vcore, load line calibration to extreme(vdrop), on the memory side the xmp, dram voltage to 1.65

What do you think? Or Im just doing something wrong

P.S.: I shouldve bought the z77 UP7 or the UD5H since those were the only one's that are left from their old stock, but i chose this even if it's from their display shelf because it's definitely what I think I need.

Why change from the Extreme 4, that was prob the best Z77 that was out there? I never had much luck on the 1155 mobos with GB mobos. The Rock had the best with Asus close behind
