I don't know where to put this so I put it here. I recently finished this build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/hQVvTW and installed Windows 7. The motherboard is by MSI and came with Sound Blaster & RealTek HD Audio Manager Drivers for Audio.

Basically what I want to do is be able to easily tell it where to point the audio whether that is the headset or my Dell Speakers plugged in the I/O ports on the rear. Problem is this RealTek crap likes to think for you and if I plug in the headset it disables all the other ports. And then if I tell it to do all ports seperately it kills my mic function. Then it picks up my headset as the speakers, etc. Anyway is there any way to possibly override this stuff and do it manually from within windows.

I want to be able to just check a box that says output to the speaker or output to the headset or both or uncheck whatever I please. This crap is making it way to complicated.

I should work like that but this RealTek HD Audio Manager crap puts a road block up. There is only one play back option which is speakers or my monitor for some reason. I can only switch it with the HD Audio.

When I have the headphones plugged in it will not respond to my commands. It then defaults to the monitor which has no audio equipment installed. I then have to disable the speakers/monitor and have windows search for my speakers which have been plugged in the whole time.

Well it seems to me that you have two options one is uninstall/or tell it not to boot with windows and use the sound options (you only need the driver anyways) or you can have someone else help you with the software. i turned mine off along time ago it was quite irritating. Though if you use the windows sound option you can leave everything plugged in and turn the off and on in a matter of seconds. good luck

my motherboards driver disc came with sound blaster and the realtek under the audio options. Im assuming the sound blaster is the main audio driver and the realtek is the unnecessary part. Now I have to figure out how to delete this crap haha.

Thanks for the suggestion I didn't even think of that.
