Computer Freezing When I Play Any Game

It all started when I got a new cpu (amd 9590) and a ballistix sport 8 gb ram card. When it first happened, it was about 3 hours into playing Fallout 4, but, since it was a new game I just thought it was a bug with the game. But now it's happening with every game and it happens within 30 minutes of playing it. I checked my computer to see if anything was hot, and everything was fine except my motherboard which was pretty hot. So I don't know if it's the motherboard overheating or something else.
here are my specs:

Windows 10
16gb ram (2x4 and 1x8)
AMD FX-9590 8-core
EVGA Geforce GTX 970
ASUS M5A99FX pro R2.0
750 watt power supply

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Solution
having 2x 4GB ram and 1x8GB ram can lead to a problem ,better have the same model of the ram installed on motherboard ,either get another 8gb ram of the exact model u have and keep it like 2x8GB , or try going for the 2x4GB u already have ,but make sure they are the same model to.
