So I have a r9 390x gpu and I have recently been considering upgrading to a msi gtx 980 ti, I have XFX Bravo Type1 ATX Chassis Mid Tower PC Case , yes I know its a crappy case and for the money I could have got a better one. My question is will my msi gtx 980 ti fit inside of my cas?

also will I need to replace my psu to run this card?

My system specs:

CPU: intel i7-6700k 4.0 GHZ
memory: 16GB
OS: windows 10 64 bit
Motherboard: asus z170 pro gaming
PSU: EVGA supernova 750watts G2

im super new to the pc world of gaming and I really need some help on this because I was thinking about buying a full tower if my 980 ti cant fit inside of my mid tower.

Solution
I guess with any card it can depend on your environment , case air flow , and how well the card was put together that day at the factory ?? some guys claim runs cool some say 80c so I guess if you case had poor air flow and your room temps are hot the cards going to get hot ?? too many factors to guess at that .. like any part from any brand you buy you try and hope it don't make you cry ....

heck I got a sapphire card that got up to 75-80c and then in the same build case room amd all replaced it with a powercolor card same series and it never got over 67c with less reported fan speed at that - so go figure

like they say with vid cards it can come down to luck of the draw on what you end up with

thing is it the hybrid...

thanks for the help man because I went down to the pc repair shop just down the road and she said not only do I want to upgrade my case but she also said that I would want to get atleast a 850 watts psu if im upgrading to a 980 ti , I was like ''850 watts?!?'' jeez I said a 980 ti not a titian xD

msi 980ti

Card Dimensions (L x H)11.06" x 4.37"

msi 390x

Card Dimensions (L x H)10.91" x 5.08"

so how much room have you to spare behind the 390x in the case for the difference ?? [seeing you did not say what 390x card you have now ??

dang look at all the out of stock cards ?? wow best be glad you grabbed on if something's up in a bad way ?? or maybe something wrong and best Waite it out ?/

its a xfx radeon r9 390x I wanna say I got atleast mabe 1inch of room left, cant say for sure because I don't have measuring tape

well it all shows the 980ti to be smaller all around so if the xfx fit so should the 980ti with room to spare ?? you do know the evga caeds are slightly smaller at 10.5 in most of the line of there cards ??

[for example]
•Height: 4.376in - 111.15mm
•Length: 10.5in - 266.7mm
http://www.evga.com/products/Specs/GPU.aspx?pn=7f9e89a4-1f3d-446e-b54a-9d39f7234e6c

that's near a full inch all around over the msi

if you can find this card on sale for the 689 price I think its the way to go

im prob going to go for the first one you posted without the liquid cooling attachments , being that I already have liquid cooling for my cpu, I don't think I would have anywhere else to put another one. Atleast not on this mid tower case that I have . despite that, do this card get pretty hot under load?

I guess with any card it can depend on your environment , case air flow , and how well the card was put together that day at the factory ?? some guys claim runs cool some say 80c so I guess if you case had poor air flow and your room temps are hot the cards going to get hot ?? too many factors to guess at that .. like any part from any brand you buy you try and hope it don't make you cry ....

like they say with vid cards it can come down to luck of the draw on what you end up with

thing is it the hybrid cards that seem to be the way to go most never get over 60c and that's the extreme side of it ??

I guess all you can do is read end user reviews like from egg and se who reported there temps and hope there right ??

''-Decent temps ( 76 C) at load without custom fan curve''

''.With a custom fan curve the highest temp ive gotten is 73 degrees while benching and high 50 to mid 60 while gaming.''

hybrid 980ti

''Cooler than any VGA I've ever used''

''Pros: -Cold Cold Cold!
Currently running at a peak temperature of 47 degrees C while running all games on max 1080p settings ''

'', I ran Aida64 for twenty-four hours and the highest temperature recorded was 56C''

if you can catch it at that 689 price tag it was a few days ago that's the real deal [opinion]

I got I mid tower as well but I think I could figure out a way to get it mounted [hacksaw -hammer- blow tourch- bolt cutter ] but that's just me [lol]

theres nothing wrong with the msi card folks like it as well, but seeing fit was at issue is why I pointed out the evga and there size

good luck

I think my biggest concern at this is if my evga 750 watt g2 will be good anof for my setup

I don't understand that ?? the 900 cards are power efficient over previous series so??? I thing he's trying to make a sale of something you don't need [opinion] not saying it don't hurt for more power but its not like your going from a 550w to a 850 ...

I was going to private message blackbird to back up what I say but found this he answered that covers this

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2778691/750w-gtx-980ti.html

he know psu's and right there he says 750w is plenty and that g2 is a great unit to hold all you can put to it

http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story5&reid=380

excellent build quality I see no issues at all

in the end you got to do what you feel is best if I all ready owned the 750 I don't think I would reinvest in a 850
