So, a friend and I have hit a slight wall in regards to whether or not a particular build is possible. He's trying to build a computer that can both stream to Twitch with an Elgato, and capture video to edit and upload to Youtube later. I've built my own computer, but I do a lot more than that, so I have some idea of the power needed to run most programs associated with Twtich and Youtube in that fashion. That being said, I'm building a similar computer for another friend right now, and I'm building it to be slightly future proof...and just for gaming. My other friend doesn't want to do the other stuff that Ed (1st friend) wants to build. However, the computer I'm building for my other friend (Josh; 2nd friend) can do everything I think Ed is looking for his to do.
Ed is saying he has a computer build for over $1k. I suggested that's way too much for just streaming, capturing, and gaming. Since we're just looking for decent graphics (not maxed), and the ability to stream and capture, my thoughts are that the build should easily be under $1k.
Here's my suggested build (not too specific, but feel free to ask or add):
~Case: $50-$100
~Mobo: Z97 series~$150
~Ram: 16Gigs~$100-$150
~CPUs: $180-$230
~HDDs (1TB) & SSDs (250GB): $150~$175
Rough totals liberally speaking: $805
I didn't include peripherals such as fans and cooling radiators, b/c seriously, if you're paying over $50 for them, you either have money to throw around I feel, or you really need it for specific reasons. Feel free to add additional estimates or even better builds. Thanks for your helps!
