I bought a Trust GXT152 mouse (a 20 euros cabled and laser mouse) no more than 2 weeks ago and for all this time it worked flawlessly. Since 3 days, however, the cursor will randomly stop moving even though I can still click and scroll. It happened for the first time when I was in-game.

To ''fix'' this I unplugged and plugged the mouse back in in both 2.0 and 3.0 USB ports: I was able to move the cursor again only for a few seconds (sometimes minutes) in both cases. I'm seeing myself being forced to execute this procedure repeatedly as of now. Yesterday however I played Skyrim and Elite Dangerous for hours without any problems so that's strange.

I made sure I had the most recent drivers. According to TweakBit Driver Updater I had 17 obsolete drivers so I went ahead and downloaded them. I can't remember so good, but one may have had ''USB root'' or something of the sort in its title. Another certainly had ''USB'' in it. Sadly, even after their installation, the issue persisted.

Whenever I'm unable to move the cursor I flip the mouse and notice that the laser is showing no activity. It's turned off, with some occasional dim red flashes. Also, this might just be a mere case but the problem seems to happen whenever I don't move the mouse for a while, basically leaving it in idle. When I have to use the mouse again, the cursor either won't move or sometimes it's got an inital slow reaction time, meaning that the cursor doesn't move immidiately but it rather has an inital, almost unnoticeable ''lag'', kind of as if it's just awoken from some sort of idle state after which it responds normally (before the cursor refuses to move again, eventually).

Here's my components, all super new (built this first rig of mine no more than 3 weeks ago, so yeah I'm still mostly a noob when it comes to all things tech-y). Putting them all, even if it's most likely unnecessary, just to make sure:
- Mobo: Gigabyte H97 D3H
- PSU: EVGA Supernova 650GS
- Case: Corsair Carbide Series 200R Mid-Tower Case
- RAM: Kingston Hyper X Fury 16GB DDR3 1600
- CPU: Intel i5 4690 3.5
- HSF: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
- GPU: MSI NVidia GTX970 4GB

So yeah, I don't know what to do. Could you help me out please? I sure could use a hand

UPDATE 15/02/16: Nevermind. I'm using another. Problem solved.

I guess with out a back up mouse to see weather its the mouse failing or something in the usb or board or what ever ?? you kinda have to have some kind of way to do process of elimination and narrow things down ??

maybe just ended up like this guy at amazon U.K??

The optical sensor simply stopped working after a few months. Not particularly impressive, by any standards.
