Hi all,

I'm looking to buy a new UPS for my PC. After calculating the power I need and comparing prices where I live, it has come down to these models:

APC Back-UPS Pro 900 (ignore the price, it sells for way less)

Eaton Ellipse PRO 850

Both sell for the same price. I know that APC is better known, but I have heard a lot of complaints these recent years.

Which one would you suggest of the two, or are both units worthless?

I don't want to keep using my PC for extended periods of time, just to ride out short power outages (~5 minutes) and have time to properly shut down in case of a longer one.

Solution
The Eaton has a USB port. That allows the PC to be signaled before the battery runs out and the PC can automatically shut down. The APC says "optional" serial/USB.

The APC model that I'm looking at has USB also.
