Hi All,
I am currently rebuilding a PC together, and i have found out that 2 out of 4 RAM channels are not working, i presume they are f*ucked. however i know my mobo can handle 16GB of RAM, e.g 4gb pro RAM slot.

Hence my question, technical i can only utilise 8 from16GB RAM, however could / would it be possible to gain the 16GB by utilising the 2 working channels with 8GB modules?

would this functionality work?
thought i would ask prior to giving out money for RAM modules, only to find out the functionality wont work

oh ok, obviously mis-read webpage. so essence, that would be 2Gigs pro slot, however as 2 of my slots are not working, could i put 4giggs in each working slot to get full functionality of the 8 gigs

Ok, however i am Running it with Windows 7,
I take it i have the following options:-
1. Try 4gig sticks in the working slots
2. if 1. dont work Suffice with 2gigs, which defeats my virtualization Plans
3. Buy a New Mobo, in the case of New Mobo, what Would you suggest as Budget Board?

I have another old pc with Quad Core procesor but only Supports 4gigs, so maybe a Budget Mobo that will Support my Quad Core procesor and more RAM
