Hi everyone!

i've just completed a new build which contains:

Gigabyte X99 SOC-FORCE Motherboard
i7 5960x CPU
980 TI GPU
64gb Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM 3000mhz
Samsung M.2 SSD 950 PRO (for OS and programs)
Samsung 850 EVO 1TB SSD (for current projects I'm working on, and then I have some archival storage)

My issue I believe is coming from the 1TB 850 EVO.. when it's been running for a little while (say 30-60 minutes) and I try and access a file on the drive, whether it be save what I'm working on or even access a folder windows explorer freezes on my PC and can't recover. Once I restarted straight away and the drive wasn't detected in my computer anymore.. my M.2 SSD so far seems pretty stable (OS drive). I've been monitoring the temps and it seemed to be between 40-50C (104F- 122F). On the Samsung site it says operating temps are up to 70C (158F)..

Does anyone have any ideas? I'm completely lost..

Thanks in advance!
Kaine

One thing I sometimes do is to run userbenchmark to test the ssd, perhaps it can shed some light. Another concern might be that it is the 950 pro? I know they are quite infamous for having temperature problems, and can thermal throttle- perhaps it could be the controller malfunctioning?

Alright, just wanted to make sure, I don't know as much about the 950 as i do the 850 seeing as i don't own one, good luck! If I think of something else I will tell you :)
