I recently purchased a new laptop, Asus RoG GL552JX. I started using it straight out of the box.
The specs are:
i7 4750HQ
GTX 950M
8 GB RAM
1 TB HDD(7200 RPM)
Windows 10 (64 Bit)
Yesterday I was transferring some files through my friends external HDD to my laptop. The max speed that was reached was 40 mbps while my friends i5 5200U transferred the same files at 90 mbps. I thought this was weird and ran some tests. I downloaded this test called Performance Benchmark and it showed my CPU mark to be less than half of what should be expected.
Also, my laptop takes a lot of time to boot(more than what a new laptop should give).
So, is this is a driver issue or is my processor "bad"?

You tell Asus what you wrote here. You shouldn't have to replace drivers or do anything else; it should work fine. You'll have to provide accurate info about the boot time; saying that it takes longer than expected isn't enough. You have to compare it with similar laptops that also boot from a HDD; a laptop with a SSD will obviously boot a lot faster, but that's to be expected. If Asus installed a lot of bloatware, then the boot time will increase and it may also affect other components.

If you have access to a network, then you should perform another test. Copy large files from the external drive to a network drive that's fast enough to not be the bottleneck. If the transfer speed from both laptops is similar, then you'll know the...

I thought about getting it replaced but what do I tell Asus? That I think the processor is not working ?
