Hey guys so cyberpower is allowing me to upgrade from the following ram:

32GB (8GBx4) DDR4/2800MHz Quad Channel Memory (ADATA XPG Z1)

To the following RAM:

64GB (16GBx4) DDR4/2800MHz Dual Channel Memory (ADATA XPG Z1)

For only $60. Other than cost, is there any reason why i shouldnt do this? The PC is for gaming and i know 8 or 16gb is more than enough for that but i want to future proof my system as much as possible. The fact that its only $60 to upgrade leads me to believe that im missing something here and that the 64 gb somehow has some sort of drawback. What do you guys think?

Also please dont bash cyberpower and/or tell me that i should build a pc myself.

Thanks!

It doesnt have a drawback, but you might just wanna do a little research and make sure your board can handle it. And yes you are right, at this moment you will never use that much ram unless you are rendering video or running some kind of massive server.

Thank you for the response. I would assume that if cyberpower allows me to select it then it must be compatible with the mother board of the build but i will check to be on the safe side.

They may well be charging a premium for the 32GB set, and have received the 4x16GB set(s) at a marketing discount, since they are newer and want to move them fast as they aren't expecting much call for 4x16GB), for $60 think I might go for it and put 2 of them up for sale - typically you can get a good 4x8GB set in the vicinity of $220 where the 4x16GB run over $400
