Sound Outputs / Combined Headphone/Microphone jack [Help]

Solution
why would you want to use a combined port? i'm guessing you mean a TRRS (tip ring ring sleeve or 4pole) 3.5mm connector instead of using two TRS (tip ring sleeve) 3.5mm connectors. 4pole is common for phone headsets although its far easier to just get a $3 adapter cable to take it from TRRS to two TRS plugs.

i dont know of any which support TRRS. there are certainly ones which re-use jacks for different purposes but those are more trouble than they are worth in most cases and a pain if you really need to use both functions at once but cannot because of the limitation. i'd stick with separate jacks if that is what you're eluding to.

read your motherboard manual - it will be there. generally the standard colors used are for these...

No reason why I'd want one, just for the sake of having both I guess.

and no I don't have chickens, I had one but someone let it out and it got killed, this is just some random picture I found :p
